Easy Baby Turban Tutorial

This was such a fun (and quick) project! Which, come to think of it, might be why it was so fun. I love long projects too, but the quick satisfaction that this one gave was so sweet. So, so sweet.

I call these baby turbans, but they can be more like a headbands depending on how skinny you make them. As I was setting up the tutorial, I was dreaming of christmas prints and colors on these adorable turbans, can someone say, Christmas gifts! You can make several of these in less than 30 mins. Which means, you could make them during your favorite TV show... or while dinner is cooking... NO EXCUSES!

Probably the most challenging thing you're going to face is getting your little gal to wear them! Then again, maybe that was just me as I was test sizing mine on a little boy who shall not be named :)

Have some fun sewing, enjoy this new tutorial, and comment below if you have any questions. If you like this, also check out my Easy Baby Beanie Tutorial for more baby ideas!

BEFORE YOU CUT: make sure you are cutting the fabric so that when you pull the two ends of the fabric, it stretches well. If you don't you won't be able to stretch it over your baby's head comfortably or at all.
Step 1: Cut out a piece of stretchy knit fabric about 20 inches long. I cut mine 4 inches wide, but you can adjust that to your desired width for baby (which will be about half this number).
Step 2: Fold in half with the right-side in, wrong-side out.

Step 3: Serge or zigzag the edge of the long side. Leave the ends open.
Step 4: Turn right-side out.
Step 5: Fit around your child's head and tie to size, or you could guesstimate ;)
Step 6: Next, trip the bows smaller and into little petal shapes. Don't worry about raw edges, knit fabrics don't fray!
Step 7: Repeat. Because you know you want to make at least 5 to match all her outfits!
