AVE DIXIE: 3 Styles for Humidity

It was 100 degrees and very humid yesterday. Oy!

When we moved to Kansas, we knew to expect humidity based on our trip to Wichita the summer before. Though Kansas is not really a Southern state, we live in the Southeastern part only about 30 minutes from Oklahoma and an hour from Missouri... So our weather is much more like the South (in the summer anyway).

Since we've settled in a bit and we're trying to get out and enjoy the new sites with Tugger more, I've come to realize that you can not leave the house in pants at all. Not in August. Dresses or shorts are the only way to survive.

Today's Ave Style Report is all about humidity and 3 cute ways to dress for it. The key to dressing for humidity is loose fit items that allow for air flow. Follow that rule and you'll be ready for the humidity. These are all items that I own and styles I wore just this last week, but in my current 34 week pregnant state, getting dressed is about all I have energy for... hopefully you'll forgive me for not having outfit pics. :)

Click the pictures below to shop the looks.

LOOK 1: Flowy Summer Dress + Sandals
This look is great because you get plenty of ventilation :)

LOOK 2: Print Shorts + Plain Tee
Loose print shorts are all over this summer and with Fall just around the corner, you can get great deals on these styles now! Or, just DIY a pair of old shorts like I did in this Bleach Print Shorts post.
LOOK 3: Linen Top + Lightweight Skirt
I've mentioned linen before in my 10 Style Tips to Keep You Cool but seriously, linen has been my best friend during a summer pregnancy and I know you'll love it too. Even this darker colored linen top is perfectly breathable for summer!
Good luck Southern Gals in beating the humidity! Even with fall fashions coming to stores and tempting us, I know we still have 2 months of summer weather in the south, so I'll be keeping it real and dressing for the season. XOXO
