Using a Sewing Pattern

I'm excited to tell you that I'm using a pattern for the very first time. Yikes! It's a little bit intimidating, but I think I chose something pretty simple. I'm going for Look A below, but without the pocket. My inspiration came from these Forever21 tops: one, two, three. I just love the nice drapes and longer sleeve lengths!

You know, for someone who loves sewing, it's pretty crazy that I've never actually used a pattern before! Most of the time I either create my own pattern/measurements or I'm refashioning an existing garment. This will be a great learning experience, one that I want to document in a way that helps others who may be using a pattern for the first time.

I'll keep you up to date on the progress and what I learn. Until then, do any of you have advice on using a pattern?
